God, City Life Center, Marketplace Church, My Family

Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders-
he’ll carry your load, he’ll help you out.
He’ll never let good people
   topple into ruin.
(Psalm 55:22)

When I’m stressed about “stuff”, these words really hit the spot. It’s a reminder from God that I don’t have to carry the troubles of life on MY shoulders. Instead, I can “pile” it on God, and He will carry my load!

That’s good news!!

THIS PAST WEEK AT CLC

Last week, we launched “Marketplace Church”, our second worship option at City LifeMarketplace Church Poster Center. I was very pleased with our first day, and am looking forward to how this group will grow and develop over the next several weeks.

My message series is entitled, Jesus On Relationships, and the messages deal directly with the relational challenges we all face at work, at home and in the community. Jesus is the master of relationships, and there’s a lot we can learn from his teaching. Last week, I talked about how Jesus taught us how to “inspect” relationships. This week, I’ll continue to talk about the inspection process. Be here!

We meet weekly from 12:10-12:50 PM and a complimentary lunch is served. We are Non-Denominational, Bible Based and Jesus Focused. Join us and forward this message to someone else!

If you can join me Friday at noon, reply to this email and let me know!

NEXT SUNDAY
Mario Guajardo will be our special guest on Sunday, February 12.

Mario is an international businessman who has developed businesses and served in ministries in the U.S. and Mexico. He has worked for one of the top financial management firms in the U.S. as well as his own businesses as an entrepreneur. He is currently growing his luxury residential and resort development company in Mexico while raising four children with his wife Charla of nearly 27 years. Mario works through Sera Ministries to establish orphanages in Mexico while working with poor families in need of food and shelter.

Mario has a powerful message, connecting people with their eternal mission in life, discovering a ‘cause’ or vision for our lives and families.

Young singer / songwriter Jason Swanson, will join Mario. He’s an awesome musician. You can look at some of his music through this link: Jason Swanson Music Videos

I really think you’ll like Mario. Not just because he’s my brother-in-law :)  but because I feel his authenticity will resonate in your heart. He’s the real deal.

AT THE WOODY HOUSE
Winter doesn’t feel much like winter this year! So, what’s up with that? I refuse to whine, though, because the only thing I like better than winter is a Texas Summer. But due to the weather, the weeds around my house are growing, and it feels kind of strange mowing the lawn (weeds) in February. Oh, well. More exercise?

Rebecca’s birthday is next Monday the 13th! I always love celebrating her birthday and Valentines Day in special ways. Because both days are so close, I try to make it extra special. I’m so glad God gave her to me. She’s my perfect balance, an amazing mother and fabulous wife.

Ian, my 12-year-old, has been serving on the Junior High Worship Team as a vocalist at Trinity Church, where he attends youth services on Wednesday evenings. He’s cool.

Devin is trying out for High School Baseball next week. I hope all the practice and training really pays off! He was recruited to run the light board last Sunday at CLC. Were you impressed with the colors?

Preston is taking leadership of the Youth and Children’s Ministry at CLC. Huge task ahead of him, but that’s where I started! When I was 12, I took over the Children’s Ministry in my dad’s church in Harlingen, Texas. Then, when I went to college, I was recruited to serve on the children’s ministry team at a large church, eventually joining the full-time staff as a Children’s Pastor prior to college graduation. I always tell ministry students that if they can successfully do children’s ministry, they can do just about anything in the church. Reason being is you have to design a full service each week, recruit volunteers, and not get much glory. It’s an excellent training ground!

CLC BUZZ
Greg and Carleen are getting married on Tuesday evening at CLC!

Oscar is just about finished with our new website, which will also have a mobile app version and online donation functionality. Can’t wait!

Hannah’s company, Keller Williams, sponsored our first Marketplace Church lunch! Thank you Hannah! She’s also booking our CLC facilities for various rentals. If you know of anyone who might be interested in renting our facility, let her know! rentals@citylifecenter.org

Russ has been out sick with pneumonia. Pray he fully recovers!

We are launching small groups in a few weeks!! Stay tuned for more chatter about it.

Joye, Linda and Doria have joined our Sunday Morning ministry team! Their help is greatly appreciated. We still need several others to help with our Sunday Worship and Marketplace Church gatherings. Interested? Please let me know! Just email me: tim@citylifecenter.org
James is doing a great job running the tech booth on Sundays! He’s training Rik on some of the equipment.

I just love the CLC family!! Amazing people. Generous hearts. I really do love my church.

We are holding a Wednesday evening Worship and Prayer Gathering on February, 22from 7:30-8:30 PM. We’ll have a full band and more. I hope you can join us!

IN CONCLUSION:

The words Moses spoke over the children of Israel in the wilderness are my words to you:

“God bless you and keep you,
God smile on you and gift you,
God look you full in the face and make you prosper.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

Sincerely,

Tim Woody
