KRLD Radio, Cupcakes, Taxes, A LOVEly Week, Elizabeth Clark and MORE!
May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face shine upon us!
That’s what I want!
God’s grace.
God’s blessing.
God to smile upon me!
It’s a prayer found in Psalm 67:1, that I chose to make my own today.
Today has been a wonderful day of blessing for City Life Center. A couple of the highlights are…
1. I received a call today that City Life Center is now exempt from property tax, and the decision was retro-acted back to 1.1.11. This is GREAT news for us, because we were really praying as to how we would pay the taxes. Thanks to my long-time friend, Pat Kemry for helping me work with Tarrant County on obtaining the exemption.
2. KRLD News Radio from Dallas will be on site tomorrow at Marketplace Church! Do I love free press? YES!!! Huge thanks to Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce member and ambassador, Brett Jeffreys. He owns a company called, Handyman Matters (817.560.4070). He’s a great guy and a respectable businessman.
I really hope you’ll come out and join me for lunch tomorrow (Friday) at CLC. There’s no cost to you! We begin at 12:10 and end promptly at 12:50 PM. Let me know if you are able to attend!!
Thanks is due to Jim Michael of IMC Facility Services (817-429-1162). IMC sponsored the lunch at Marketplace Church last week. I appreciate all Jim and IMC does to keep our facilities in tip top shape.
- Would you like to be a Marketplace Church Corporate or Individual Lunch Sponsor? Sponsors receive a special table at the rear of the auditorium to promote their company, as well as a mention in the program and more. Lunch Sponsorships are $300.00.
THE BUZZ AT CLC
Last weekend, City Life Center had 111 in attendance (combined Friday and Sunday services). We are excited about the steady growth we continue to see. Invite someone out to CLC this weekend.
On Sunday, my message is on the topic of forgiveness. My prayer is that we will all be set free to live at a higher level as we engage the power of releasing others and ourselves by forgiving those who have wronged us.
A friend of ours, Elizabeth Clark, is CLC’s guest worship leader this Sunday, February 19th. Jon Hernandez is out of state leading worship at a Leadership Retreat, so Elizabeth will lead in his stead. Trust me, you’ll really appreciate Elizabeth! She has a powerful anointing of God on her music and ministry.
Here’s something interesting: Mr B. with the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce reported that Fort Worth is now the 16th largest city in the United States and was No. 1 for issuing building permits in 2011. It is also, yet again, the fastest growing large city in United States. Sounds like a great place for a new church, right?
I love my city!
AT THE WOODY HOUSE
I really love Rebecca! The past several days have been crazy with our schedules, but we were still able to celebrate what I call, “Love Week”, where I give her a card and a small gift of some sort each day. You see, her birthday and Valentines Day are adjacent, so we just celebrate for a full week.
I was even proud of myself for being crafty and decorating cupcakes. I don’t think I’ve ever decorated a cupcake in my life. Seriously. She said they were cool.
Are you impressed? If you’re not, you don’t know me very well. :)
Preston is spending today and tomorrow at the C3 Conference at Fellowship Church with a friend of his. I’m jealous. I have to work. :)
CLC PEOPLE:
Next Wednesday evening, we are holding a Worship and Prayer Gathering. That’s February 22 from 7:30-8:30 PM. We’ll have a full band and more. I hope you can join us!
Greg and Carleen got married, and I just mailed off the Marriage License. That was truly an amazing wedding!
Oscar is working to redesign our stage for Sunday. I appreciate all he and Alicia do for City Life.
We are launching small groups in a few weeks!! Russ Fallett has agreed to bring oversight to our groups. Keep watching for more details.
